Kinsale can easily claim its place amongst Ireland’s most historic locations for it has been a centre of commerce, trade and fishing far beyond memory and record.

Accommodated in traditional old stone buildings with more recent additions, the Trident Hotel is situated at the water’s edge on the site of the old naval dockyard in Kinsale.

A major extension to the hotel was commissioned, the façade of which had to compliment existing weathered stone masonry. Bradstone Masonry Walling was specified as most closely resembling the characteristics of the original random rubble stonework.

Now the extension blends with the original buildings, creating a fusion between old and new, which is almost imperceptible
